Unlike most photographers we publish all our prices online so you know what you’re getting and for what price – We have no hidden extras. Below is a basic guide to wedding photography prices and what you can expect to get for what money:
FREE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – £0
This is when a friend or relative offers to take the photographs for you. You may think of choosing this option if you are on a very limited budget for wedding photography, but even then more often than not you won’t receive a professional service, just a CD of un-edited images, if that! Generally the sort of photographer that will offer to photograph your wedding for free won’t have much experience with wedding photography. Even if he or she is experienced in other fields of photography, it is unlikely they have photographed many weddings (otherwise they would be in the wedding photography business!). Professional wedding photographers know how to use the light, where to position themselves to capture the best informal shots and how to pose and position you and your guests to make you look your best for the posed photographs. Good professional photographers generally spend at least a few days after the wedding backing up, selecting, editing and improving your images. Someone who offers to take your photographs for free simply won’t have the time, skill or motivation do this. Imagine asking a part-time pilot who has taken a few flying lessons to pilot a jumbo jet! Would you be comfortable flying with him? Likewise would you be happy trusting the memories of the most important day of your life to someone who just hasn’t got the experience?

Here at Leeds Wedding Photographer if you book one of our high-end wedding photography packages, we will meet you 2-3 times as well as on the day of the wedding, spend the full day with you at the wedding, 4-5 days after the wedding editing the pictures and improving them, designing an album or Wedding Book if you choose one, editing together a movie-style DVD slideshow set to music, creating an online web gallery for your guests to view and make sure each one of your wedding images are finished and presented in a professional and way. You will see a preview design of your wedding album before it’s printed to check you’re happy with it. You can make as many changes as you want FREE of charge. Our bigger packages include Parent’s Copies of the album and even mini-copies for bridesmaids and ushers. With these packages we really go all out to give you exactly what you want! This is our most popular package as it includes coverage of the whole wedding day from bride getting ready right up until first dance!
Generally we suggest photography starts around an hour before the ceremony starts (we wait until you’ve had your hair and make-up done before we start photographing you of course…so you look your absolute best!). At this time we can still get those lovely pre-wedding shots of the dress hanging up, the shoes and the flowers along with the bridesmaids helping you get ready. Then we’ll leave you to finish off getting ready and head over to do some stylish pictures of the groom, best man and ushers. After that we’ll come back to your room to capture the moment as your father walks into the room and sees his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress. We then capture every expression and smile as you walk arm in arm with your father into the ceremony and see your husband to be for the first time that day. We unobtrusively capture those intimate moments during the ceremony as you exchange rings and say your vows, looking adoringly into each other’s eyes…then the kiss! After that it’s usually outside to be congratulated by your guests as we capture the informal reaction shots and then we organise the family photos that you’ve requested. We suggest keeping the number of formal photos to a minimum but we can work quickly to get these done so you’re not hanging around for hours and have plenty of time to chat to your guests. As our style of photography is informal, documentary-style or often known as “reportage”, we let you get on with enjoying the day as we capture the natural reaction shots of you and your guests. Just before you go through into the meal we’ll do a posed shot with the cake and then some shots of the guests at each table as they sit down for the “wedding breakfast”. We’ll photograph the speeches and the lovely moments and reactions of the guests to the jokes and revelations during that time. After the meal if you have more guests arriving for the evening we’ll photograph them arriving and then be there for the all-important first dance of your married life to that song that means so much to both of you!
Wow! What a day! All in all a pretty important day for you both. So now you can see how important choosing the right wedding photography package for you is. Here at Leeds Wedding Photographer we’re happy to meet you for a no-obligation quote to discuss your wedding. Natalie and Stuart’s “retro” wedding at Oulton Hall, Leeds, West Yorkshire
We got creative with Natalie and Stuart’s wedding photos from Oulton Hall near Leeds and gave them a retro-feel. The iphone has recently sparked a trend for old Hipstamatic camera 70s-style photos and this has brought them back in Vogue. So we gave these wedding photos a retro make over so you can see what’s possible with different styles of wedding image…
Oulton Hall exterior looked great when we gave it the retro-feel…
